AirDrop alternative for Windows and Android
AirDrop is convenient when both devices are Apple. When one of them is Windows or Android, it does not work at all. The usual fallback is email, a messaging app, or uploading to cloud storage. All of these are slower than AirDrop and involve a third-party server.
What KEIBIDROP does differently
KEIBIDROP connects any two devices directly, regardless of operating system. Mac to Android, Windows to iPhone, Linux to Windows, any combination. The transfer is encrypted and goes directly between the two devices without passing through a server.
Unlike AirDrop, it also works over the internet. AirDrop requires both devices to be nearby on the same network. KEIBIDROP connects over the internet too, with an encrypted relay as fallback when firewalls block the direct connection.
What else it does that AirDrop cannot
AirDrop copies the entire file before you can use it. KEIBIDROP has a virtual folder mode where the peer's files appear as a directory on your machine. You can open and work with them before the full transfer finishes. Play a video while it is still streaming from the other device. Browse a folder of 500 photos and only download the ones you open.
There is no file size limit and no file count limit. AirDrop gets unreliable with large transfers and folders with many files. It can silently drop files or stall partway through. KEIBIDROP handles entire folder structures natively. If a transfer is interrupted (connection drops, device sleeps, app closed), it resumes from where it stopped when you reconnect. Nothing needs to start over.
No account
AirDrop uses your Apple ID. KEIBIDROP does not require any account. You exchange a code the first time and save the other person as a contact, or use incognito mode for one-time connections with no trace.
Encryption
AirDrop uses TLS. KEIBIDROP uses post-quantum encryption (ML-KEM-1024 + X25519) designed to protect against both current and future computing threats. The connection is end-to-end encrypted. If a relay is used, it forwards bytes it cannot read.
