KeibiDrop video tutorials, one short clip per step
Eight short videos, each under two minutes, silent with a caption on every click. They cover the install on a Mac, the one-time setup for files as a folder, connecting two computers with a code, sending a file, saving a contact, opening the other computer's files as a folder, and a DaVinci Resolve session with the footage on a NAS at home.
KEIBIDROP is free and open source, with no account and nothing in a cloud. Install it on both computers, connect once, then it is a folder.
Two minutes, start to finish
The whole path in one clip: open the app on both computers, copy your code and send it in a chat, paste theirs, press Connect, drop a file in, then open their files as a folder. The steps are written out on the how to use page.
Install on a Mac
Download for Mac at keibidrop.com, open the file, drag the app onto Applications, open it from there. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a warning. Windows, Linux and Android are on the install page.
Their files as a folder on a Mac, the one-time setup
After the first connection the app offers Files as a folder. On a Mac that needs macFUSE once: Get macFUSE, run the installer, allow it in System Settings. From then on the other computer's files open like a folder on yours.
Connect with a code
Copy my code, send it in WhatsApp, Signal or any chat. Paste the code they sent you, press Add, then Connect. Both sides press Connect. On the same Wi-Fi there is a switch instead of the codes.
Send a file
Drop the file into the window. The other person presses Save and it lands in their folder. The file goes straight from your computer to theirs, with no upload to a server first and no size limit.
Save a contact
Press Save Peer, give it a name, Save. The next time, one click on the name connects you. No codes to exchange again.
Files as a folder
Press Open Folder. Their files show up like a folder on your computer. Open a video from it and it plays right away; only the part you watch comes over.
DaVinci Resolve from a NAS at home
A NAS in Timisoara serves the footage. A laptop 400 km away, on home internet, imports four clips of 35 to 131 MB into Resolve on a cold mount, plays them, jumps between them, seeks, then exports ten seconds.
