Send files without an account, an email or a phone number

18 October 2026, Marius-Florin Cristian

KEIBIDROP needs no account, no email address, no phone number and no password. The app makes a key on your device, and your code is a fingerprint of that key. You send your code to the other person in any chat, they send theirs, and you're connected.

Files go straight between the two devices, encrypted all the way, and the encryption is quantum-safe. No copy of your file is kept on a server.

Your code is your identity

There's nothing to sign up for. The first time you open the app, it makes a key that stays on your device, and the code you share is a fingerprint of it. When you connect, the app checks that the other side really owns the code you added, so nobody can pretend to be them.

Our servers see encrypted pieces at most

On a direct connection, the file never touches our servers. When two devices can't reach each other directly, our relay passes along encrypted pieces. It can't read them and never sees a file name. It does see the IP addresses of the two devices and when they talk, like any server on the internet. If you need to hide that too, use a VPN or Tor.

Paying for speed needs no account either

The relay is free. If you move a lot of data through it and want full speed when it's busy, you can buy relay credit, and that's private too: you get a code, and the code holds the credit. There's no account, no subscription and no expiry. 250 GiB costs €5, see the pricing page.

Quantum-safe encryption

The two devices agree on their keys with two methods at once, a classic one and a post-quantum one, and both would have to be broken. It's built so that traffic someone records today stays protected, even against a quantum computer later.

The key exchange combines ML-KEM-1024, a post-quantum algorithm in NIST's highest security category, with X25519, so both would have to be broken. Details on the security page.

Send a file this way

  1. Install KEIBIDROP from the install page. It's free for Mac, Windows and Linux, and there's an Android app too.
  2. Open it, press Copy next to your code, and send the code to the other person on WhatsApp, Signal, email or any chat app.
  3. They install it too, paste your code and press Add. Then they press Copy and send you their code. You paste theirs and press Add.
  4. You both press Connect.
  5. Drag the file or folder onto the window: a video, a PDF, a spreadsheet, an archive, a game, anything. It pops up on their screen and they press Save.

The other person can also join from a browser tab with no install: press Invite link and send it. See browser to browser.

Your code belongs to your device. On a new computer you get a new code, and the other person adds it once.

Both computers have to be on and connected while the file moves. If you need to turn yours off, ask them to press Save first, so the whole file is on their computer.
